Fear of Rejection
November 12th, 2007Love, Love
October 22nd, 2007There’s a song that goes… “all they need is love, love, all they need is love…†I’ll spare you from singing it… but there’s some profound meaning in that old pop song!
People everywhere are starving for love. And unfortunately, they’re looking in all the wrong places… relationships, money, power, prestige… instead of to the ultimate source of love… Jesus Christ.
So we as believers have the awesome privilege of telling them! Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.†Well, the greatest way to love others is to make sure they are secure in a relationship with Christ. Everything doesn’t matter without that.
So think about the song lyrics, “They will know we are Christians by our love.†Let that remind you to share God’s love with others this week.
Shining Example
October 15th, 2007How do you handle crisis? Do you shut down… or do you shine?
Let me tell you about John. John’s wife was diagnosed with cancer. The same month John had open-heart surgery and then learned his unmarried daughter was pregnant. If that wasn’t all… John’s mother and his wife passed away. And to top it off… his new grandson was being tested for Cystic Fibrosis.
I spent time with John thinking I was going to minister to him. But to my surprise, John ministered to me. As I watched John deal with each crisis, John never waivered in his faith. He always knew God would provide the grace and strength he needed.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine before men so they will see your good works and glorify God.â€
Let your life be a witness to others! Share your faith! You CAN do it!
Life Pupose
October 9th, 2007What do you think your purpose in life is?
Perhaps it’s being the best son or daughter in the world! Or an awesome spouse. Perhaps you think your purpose is being a wonderful parent.
Those are all very important roles… no doubt about it. But our ultimate, greatest purpose on this planet is to bring glory to our Creator, God. And God always receives glory when we are faithful to His call.
Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all people.â€
Sharing the gospel is an incredible opportunity! When we tell others about Jesus Christ, we are handing them an invitation to have life with God for eternity! And then they … can fulfill their greatest purpose too!
So look for opportunities to please and glorify God. Share your faith! You CAN do it!
Spiritual Multiplication
October 2nd, 2007When I was in school, I wasn’t the greatest math student. Between algebra, fractions, geometry, and calculus… I was barely keeping my head above water at times!
But throughout the years, I’ve really come to love one particular type of math. And that’s multiplication. Specifically… spiritual multiplication! For example, think about this…
One person shares Jesus Christ with ten people.  Then those ten people share with another ten people! Now that group of people shares with another ten people. Suddenly you’ve got hundreds and hundreds of people receiving Jesus Christ! Now that’s some awesome spiritual multiplication happening! And it’s all because one person stepped out and told others about Jesus Christ!
So imagine this! When you share the Gospel, you can become part of a spiritual revolution!
Spiritual Journey
September 24th, 2007Where are you on your spiritual journey?
You know, everyone is on some kind of spiritual journey. But the real question is, what will be the final destination of that journey?
Carl Saga, a renowned atheist, was on a spiritual journey during his life. Yet, now that he is dead, he is 100 percent sure about God. But it’s too late for him to do anything about it!
So many people you come in contact with every day may be on some kind of spiritual journey. But you can make sure they know what’s waiting for them when they die.
Ask them where they are on their spiritual journey? Then tell them about the saving love of Jesus Christ. Do let them leave the planet without the opportunity for eternal life.
Share your faith! You CAN do it!
Run the Race
September 18th, 2007When the bells sound at Engine 22, Melissa Cleary moves like a sprinter!
And Melissa happens to be the engineer of the nation’s only all-female fire station. She drives the truck, races to burning buildings and drags the 86-pound hoses to the water supply.
Of course, it’s the skills Melissa has developed as a marathon runner that most benefit her work. And when her shift ends at eight in the morning, Melissa hits the roads and runs up to fifteen miles.
Hebrews 12 says, “Let us run with endurance, the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes upon Jesus.†You know, evangelism is like a race. It takes practice and perseverance. But the more you share, the easier it comes.
So start running the race today. Tell someone about Jesus Christ! Share your faith! You CAN do it!
The Answer
September 11th, 2007You know, life is often full of questions!
Like… why are there hurricanes and floods? Why are there plane crashes and murders? What about diseases like cancer? And really… why do bad things happen to good people?
None of us have all the answers. But as followers of Jesus Christ, we know the One who does! And we have the awesome privilege of pointing others to Him… every day.
Jesus said in the book of Acts, “You shall be my witnesses.†God doesn’t need us to share our faith… but He chooses to use us to help bring others into His kingdom.
So the next time someone asks a question that leaves you stumped, maybe just say, “I don’t have the answer, but I know the One who does! Let me tell you about Him!â€
Share your faith! You CAN do it!
Legacy of Love
August 28th, 2007What kind of legacy are you leaving?
Cliff Barrows has been the Billy Graham’s music minister for many years. One time he decided to teach his young sons an important lesson. When his boys had done something wrong, Cliff removed his belt and shirt. He knelt by his bed with his bare back facing the boys. He asked them to each give him ten lashes.  The boys sobbed as they reluctantly lashed their dad’s back. Afterwards, Cliff hugged them and they prayed together.
Cliff built his legacy by showing his children he cared enough to pay the price for them. That reminds me of how Jesus paid the price for for us. He took the pain and suffering of our sin so we could have eternal life.
So why don’t you tell someone about God’s love!
Leave a legacy.  Share your faith! You CAN do it!
